Egypt
Zietieh was a small 37 m coastal steamer, broadside launched on the River Ellen, in England, in 1911, for the Egyptian Oil Trust. She probably carried material for the budding oil industry in the Gulf of Suez. It is said that on 26 January 1915, on a voyage from Zeitieh to Gemsah with a cargo of piping and railway material, the ship caught fire and sank off Rassin Island. The hold still keeps part of her last cargo, 6 m railway tracks, and the anchor still lies with its chain stretched out. The rudder and propeller are in place, and the fallen funnel rests on the seabed alongside. The rudder quadrant and the rest of the hull are covered in corals.
