Egypt
There have been sightings of frogfish on the house reef, and a dark brown one once lived on an upturned parasol that the wind blew into the sea. In May 2014, a flood came down from the mountains, ran through the resort and carried silt and debris into the sea, affecting the sites in front of the Taba Heights hotels. In May 2024, the bottom was covered by a layer of fine silt, with no sign of the guide rope or the blocks, and this was considered probably the site most affected by the flood. On a dive that month, a few lionfish and moray eels were found, but nothing significant.
