Velifushi House Reef

Turtles, rays and sharks turn up on the house reef. Seen from above, the overwater villa jetty is shaped like a stingray.

Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives, the fourth Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts property in the Maldives, was officially inaugurated on the evening of October 1, 2019. The resort staff run a voluntary coral propagation project and plant live corals every month. In the region, manta rays are often seen in the channels near Cinnamon Velifushi.

In Vaavu, the dry season usually runs from December to April, with little rain and little wind. From May to November there tends to be more wind and rain, and during that time plankton blooms tend to attract manta rays and whale sharks.
