Maldives
In a report from October 2003, the thila is covered in soft corals of every color, with a giant grouper. Frequent visitors include stingrays, eagle rays, turtles, tuna and large schools of both fusiliers and bat fish. In that 2003 report, divers describe it as a thila that was not so badly affected by the dreaded El Niño. In the naming of Maldivian dive sites, 'beyru' means 'outside' and 'thila' means an underwater pinnacle.
