Umm Gamar (Mother of Moons) is an elongated island north of Hurghada with world-class reefs along both sides, the northern wall being the most dramatic with a drop from 5 to 40 m. The site records frequent sightings of whitetip reef sharks, barracudas and schools of fusiliers in moderate to strong currents.
