North Nilandhe Atoll, Maldives
These are two small thilas in a narrow channel, and the larger one is called Big Brother. The larger thila is covered in anemones.
The bigger brother lies to the north, is covered in soft corals and sponges, and is visited mostly by snorkelers. There are also a couple of caves on the inside of the larger thila that are worth a visit. Stingrays are usually found on the sandy bottom, and eagle rays and sharks often swim across the channel entrance.
In Faafu Atoll, the good season usually runs from October to March, and the monsoon usually falls from around April to November.
