Tortugas Reef near Playa del Carmen and northern Cozumel, named for the numerous hawksbill turtles that inhabit the site, with a flat coral garden covered by large brown barrel sponges between 13 and 35 meters. Moderate currents, eagle rays and seasonal bull shark sightings in winter complete the rich diving experience at this site.
