Torfa El Mesheich is a fringing reef about 2 km long, with varied terrain of canyons and lagoons, suitable for both diving and snorkeling. Because of its huge coral garden with many species, the reef often serves as a research object for the national park rangers. It is also known as Turtle House, thanks to the good chance of encountering huge turtles.
Among lagoons, pillars and blocks, alongside the large coral garden, you can see nudibranchs, crocodilefish, batfish, octopuses and large schools of various kinds. Sharks and rays are also seen, and with some luck there are encounters with dolphins or larger rays.
