Maldives
Tiger sharks pass through this site, and small, colorful fish shelter along the wall. The advice at the site is to always stay close to the wall and look back often, because of the tiger sharks passing by. In divers' records, the tiger shark dominates the site, with sightings in every month and a peak in February and March.
Fuvahmulah has the only known aggregation of tiger sharks in the Maldives. A total of 236 individuals have been identified in the area, 84% of them female, with an average size of 320 cm total length.
In Fuvahmulah, tiger sharks are usually sighted all year round. In the southernmost atolls, December to March is usually the best time to dive and see the shark action.
