Shaab Mohamed is part of the Wadi Lahmi group, in the northwest of Fury Shoals, which is named after the desert valley of the same name south of Hamata. The Arabic word 'shaab', found in the name, refers to an extensive reef that reaches the surface, of indefinite and usually elongated shape, with a top that has no corals. Shaab Mohamed is small next to its neighbours in Fury Shoals, and its northern part is full of huge coral-covered pinnacles reaching up to the surface, between which you dive.
Larger species also appear there, such as white tip sharks and dolphins, as well as barracudas. The fauna recorded at the site also includes turtles, clown fish, crocodilefish, pufferfish, parrot fish, morays, slugs, pipefish and sea cucumbers.
