Shaab Ghadir Soghayr is egg-shaped, 330 m long and 220 m wide, and lies about 8 km off the coast, in the northern part of the Radir/Ghadir group. To the north, a large coral garden with towering rocks forms a small labyrinth. On the western side, the coral garden continues along the wall up to the erg in the south and ends on a white sandy seabed, while the eastern side is more barren. A colony of garden eels lives in the sand of the channel between the reef and the erg to the south, where it feeds on plankton. They are very shy and disappear into their holes when someone approaches carelessly.
