At Shaab Alex, also called Shaab Nenad, you dive with the reef on your right shoulder. The dive passes over a stepped plateau and a hard coral garden, and the wide coral gardens, with many reef dwellers, are the highlight. The reef is full of various coral fish, and sometimes an eagle ray or a turtle appears.
On one dive, buddy teams saw a turtle and two eagle rays; on another, in April 2026, there were two turtles, a giant moray, glass shrimps, lionfish, Christmas tree worms and a school of redtooth triggerfish. Other dives recorded rabbitfish, dartfish, a tasselled scorpionfish, fusiliers, porcupinefish, giant and white-spotted puffers and a huge school of snappers.
On the long, largely untouched reef between Stone Beach and Shaab Sabina, turtles and eagle rays are not rare, and whale sharks pass by from time to time.
