In the southern part of the reef, the dive follows a plateau with a hard coral garden that ends in a drop-off. The southeastern tip of Sha'ab Sataya, with its coral garden, is the most popular dive site on the reef.
Turtles and dolphins live on the Sha'ab Sataya reef. Spinner dolphins rest at Sataya during the day and head out at night to hunt. In the summer months, the dolphin groups are usually at Sataya every day, and births usually take place in July and August.
