The real name of the vessel or object wrecked at Serra Pelada is unknown, and the only date on record is the 1980s. In October 2010, divers made a drift dive with the current in search of other structures around the container, but nothing else was found. By 2012, dive operators had practically stopped running trips to the site.
Despite its small size, the site gathers schools of peixes-galo, as well as lobsters, moray eels, rays and frades. During the October 2010 survey, there was a good amount of marine life on the container's frame.
In Fortaleza, diving usually takes place mainly from January to June, when conditions are more favorable.
