Arraial do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The name Saco da Abobrinha comes from the pumpkin colour of the rocks at the site. The bottom resembles that of Ponta do Anequim and has an abundance of the sponge Aplysina.
On one dive at the site, turtles, moray eels, pufferfish, sergeant major, flying gurnard and needlefish were seen, among other species. In Arraial do Cabo, upwelling tends to occur mainly between November and March and is associated with a greater abundance of fauna in the region.
