Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
Rio Sucuri is a float and snorkel site, and the route has a great diversity of aquatic plants, with emergent beds of macrophytes, mainly Gomphrena elegans. Because of its transparency, the river is also called "Rio Invisível" (Invisible River) or "Rio sem água" (River without water). The name came around 1975, when a visitor flew over the region and thought the river's vegetation, seen from above, looked like the markings of a giant sucuri.
