Maldives
The name comes from Dhivehi, where "beyru" means "outside, external": the site is between Shark Point and Bodu Hithi Manta Point. Eagle rays, tuna, barracudas and schools of trevallies are often spotted, and the reef is home to a wide variety of marine life. In the Rasfari area, manta rays tend to appear during the northeast monsoon. Rasfari and the surrounding reef are among the 15 dive sites registered as protected areas by the Maldivian government on 27 September 1995.
