Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt
Ras Nasrani is the cape that marks the entrance to the Strait of Tiran, north of Sharm El Sheikh airport, and is one of the most reliable wall dives in the area. The reef wall drops from a shallow plateau at 5 metres to over 40 metres, with two main features: a coral-encrusted promontory ('the Point') jutting into the current where pelagics congregate, and a sandy slope to the south where eagle rays and stingrays rest. The site is famous for its resident school of yellow-saddle goatfish, regular turtle sightings and seasonal hammerhead and grey reef shark passes in summer. Soft corals and gorgonians cover the wall thickly. The dive is normally run as a drift south toward 'White Knights'. Currents can be strong on the point during the spring tides. Visibility 25–30 metres. Mooring buoys only.
