In the northern erg of Ras Disha there is a small cave with glassfish where a turtle sometimes takes a nap, and barracudas like to hang out between the ergs. Because of the glassfish, the ergs attract their typical hunters: mackerel, lionfish and groupers. The pinnacles have cracks and caverns full of glassfish, and in one of the coral blocks there is a tunnel where you can do your safety stop watching the schools.
Close to the wall, bannerfish and butterflyfish team up with parrotfish and surgeonfish. In the sand, soles, blue-spotted rays and torpedo rays dig for crustaceans, while gobies and shrimps keep watch from their burrows. The site is also home to scorpionfish, stonefish, rays, crocodilefish and plenty of anemonefish.
