Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt
Ras Bob is a small promontory between Pinky's Wall and Near Garden in Sharm bay, named after a long-time dive guide. The site is a gentle sloping reef descending from 6 metres to a sandy bottom at 22–25 metres, with a small drop-off on the eastern side. Hard coral cover is excellent, dotted with bommies hosting clouds of anthias and damselfish; sandy patches host blue-spotted ribbontail rays and the occasional crocodilefish. The site is suitable from Open Water level and is used for training, night dives and macro photography. Reliable sightings include lionfish, masked pufferfish, peacock groupers, octopus and turtles. Visibility 20–25 metres. Currents are typically very mild.
