Egypt
The Qulaan Islands lie north of the port of Hamata and are often passed over, and they also have a reputation as "snorkeling only". Being close to the marina, they work well for a third dive on the way back from Fury Shoals. The islands' sandy beaches gave the archipelago the nickname "Egyptian Maldives". Part of Wadi El Gemal National Park, the islands have become a bird watching sanctuary with large colonies.
