Maldives
In Dhivehi, "thila" means an underwater pillar, a reef formation that does not reach the surface. The site brings together a great variety of fish: the overhangs shelter hundreds of glassfish and juvenile fish, and there are schools of bannerfish and sergeant fish. Drawn by the number of juveniles and the schools of fusiliers, many tunas and jacks hunt at the site. In the northern atolls, the best time to dive tends to run from December to April.
