Maldives
The corner forms where the southern Asdhoo channel reef meets the atoll barrier. There, the reef crest slopes gently down, with coral blocks (bommies) to shelter behind. On the barrier side, the slope drops in a step down to a sandy shelf, and the overhangs and a swim-through are on the inner side.
On the channel wall, the overhangs are covered with sea fans and purple, yellow, orange and pink soft corals. Squirrelfish, bigeyes and soldierfish stay around there, and sweetlips and morays also live in the overhangs. With a torch, you can look for boxer cleaner shrimp in the crevices.
