Brazil
Praia de Bainema, on Ilha de Boipeba, is about 3 km long and, being one of the most remote beaches on the island, stays almost deserted all year, except for the Pontal, where the natural pools are. Pontal de Bainema is a point jutting out at the southern end of the beach, and to the south a mangrove trail and the crossing of the Catu River separate it from Ponta dos Castelhanos.
The natural pools are surrounded by corals that form lagoons and are home to rich marine biodiversity. Depending on sea conditions, the dive on the Ponta dos Castelhanos trip may be done at Bainema, when the sea is clearer there. In Boipeba, the period from November to April tends to be sunnier, with favorable winds that clear the sea.
