Praia da Santa Rita

At the far left end of Praia da Santa Rita there is a small natural pool. At the ends of the beach are the well-known stairway of the trail to Perequê-Mirim and Pedra do Sino. Pedra do Sino, up the rocky shore at the left corner, rings like bronze when struck, just like the stones of Praia do Sino (Garapocaia) in Ilhabela. The beach tends to get very crowded on holidays and sunny summer weekends, so it is worth avoiding those periods and arriving early, since outside daylight saving time it falls into shade from 4 p.m. In the Ubatuba region, summer tends to be the best season for diving, with warmer water.
