Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt
Pinky's Wall is a short stretch of vertical reef wall between Ras Umm Sid and the Tower in Sharm bay, named for the dense growth of pink soft corals (Dendronephthya hemprichi) that drape the wall between 12 and 30 metres. Currents are usually mild, allowing slow exploration of overhangs sheltering glassfish, soldierfish and lionfish. Resident giant moray eels, masked pufferfish and Napoleon wrasses are reliable; turtles and the occasional whitetip reef shark pass. The shallow plateau above the wall hosts good hard coral cover and provides an easy safety stop. The site is normally combined with Ras Umm Sid or the Tower as a continuous drift. Visibility 25 metres typical. Inside the Sharm El Sheikh protected area.
