Pilarsteen is an advanced pinnacle east of Padar in southern Komodo National Park, featuring walls, caves and swim-throughs between 18 m and 40 m depth. The site is accessible even in moderate currents and presents schools of fusiliers, diverse soft corals, gorgonians and occasional passages of sharks and turtles; southern upwellings keep the waters cold and nutrient-rich.
