Brazil
Pedra do Lima is a small rocky area 13.6 km east of Pirangi do Sul. It is one of the five Pirangi reefs mapped in detail with side-scan sonar and multibeam bathymetry. Barracudas are always sighted on the pinnacle.
In the region, this sector of the shelf is important for the migration, feeding and nesting of sea turtles. On the Pirangi shelf, lobster is the most exploited seabed resource, caught with traps called marambaias.
