Brazil
The wreck of the Paraná is dated to 1878, but there are differing versions of the date. Today the wreckage is broken up, but the huge bow is still intact, lying on its port side, with the topmast and the guardrails. At the bow, two large admiralty-type anchors flank the collapsed frames.
In the middle of the vessel four large boilers can be seen, three of them in a row and a fourth three to four metres further on. The wreckage lies very close to that of the paddle steamer São Salvador. In the Salvador region, diving options tend to shrink in winter because of bad weather.
