In 1906 the small steamer Teixeirinha, used on the coastal shipping route, joined the steamer São Paulo in rescuing the steamer Victória, which had run aground at the entrance to the port of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina. In June 1923 the Teixeirinha was heading up the coast towing the yacht Allívio 4º when she ran into a storm with strong northwesterly winds. She sought shelter in the Boqueirão and, while trying to round Ponta da Jararaca, was thrown against the rocky shore and sank, on 16 June 1923.
The wreckage starts in the inner part of the cove, with the stern among rocks and sand, a mooring bollard, the shaft without the blades of the bronze propeller, the steering wheel and part of the engines. Further on, a boiler 3 m in diameter lies on the sand and, among the rocks, the bow is still clearly recognisable, with a large winch, chains and mooring bollards. On the bottom there are moray eels, lobsters and scorpionfish.
