In Dhivehi, "kandu" means "channel", and Mundoo Kandu is the channel next to the island of Mundoo, which sits on the long reef on the eastern edge of the atoll. It is a channel full of life, with schools of fish everywhere and a manta cleaning station in the middle. The channels of Mundoo Kandu and Fushi Kandu have abundant pelagic life, with sharks, rays, turtles and large schools of fish.
