Dahab, South Sinai, Egypt
Moray Garden is a south Dahab shore site near the Mashraba area, named for the unusual concentration of moray eels — primarily giant moray (Gymnothorax javanicus), yellow-edged moray and undulated moray — sheltering in the reef cracks. Divers enter from a Bedouin camp and swim out through a coral channel to a sloping reef descending to 30 metres, with hard coral cover and bommies dotting the slope. Beyond the morays, reef life includes lionfish, masked pufferfish, peacock groupers, blue-spotted ribbontail rays and clouds of anthias; turtles are regular and the occasional eagle ray passes. The site is sheltered, with very mild currents, and is suitable from Open Water level. Visibility 20–25 metres typical.
