Mulaku Atoll, Maldives
The name literally means “shark channel” in Dhivehi. Tuna are among the animals in the channel.
On the north side of the channel there is a cave. The channel walls have overhangs and large coral blocks covered in soft corals; in the south passage, rocks with soft corals are full of reef fish.
Vaavu's channel dives, Miyaru Kandu among them, tend to be best from January to April, when the northeast monsoon flattens the sea.
