Egypt
In the region, there is a coral garden next to the Pipelines, two large desalination pipes that have not been used for over 30 years, structures left after the Israeli occupation in the 1970s. At this site, it is common to see nudibranchs and moray eels among the corals, and large table corals at the edge of the garden shelter schools of fish. In the center of the garden there is a pinnacle split by a crack where fish gather, and there lionfish collect in large numbers to hunt them. Schools of glass fish appear around the pinnacle, and the area is also often home to scorpionfish, stonefish and frogfish. At the end of the summer, green turtles tend to gather in this area to mate.
