Mawan is the second major manta ray sighting point in Komodo National Park, with cleaning stations around 10 m depth where reef mantas (Mobula alfredi) appear regularly from October to March. Compared to Karang Makassar, interactions at Mawan tend to be closer and longer-lasting; the shallow depth (max. 18 m) and moderate currents make the site accessible for divers of all levels.
