At Marsa Masdoda, the main attraction is entering through a canyon in the back reef, where you swim for 7 to 10 minutes before reaching the outside. Out there, hard coral blocks are scattered over the sand. Entry and exit are through two long canyons, with closed and open stretches, and a rope marks the main route.
Butterflyfish, groupers and surgeonfish live in the canyon and on the reef wall. Among the most frequently seen fish are the spot-fin porcupinefish, the Red Sea raccoon butterflyfish, the threadfin butterflyfish and the Sohal surgeonfish. Thousands of sea goldies gather on the slopes, and barracudas can be seen in the blue. In and around the caves you can see scorpionfish, stingrays, octopus, nudibranchs, clownfish and crocodile fish.
