Maldives
Sandy patches along the reef serve as resting places for stingrays, and turtles and anemonefish round out the dive. In Shaviyani, from November to May diving conditions are usually excellent, with few rainy days. In June, choppy seas may reduce diving, and the stronger monsoon wind usually brings plankton, which tends to draw in large pelagic animals, so it is possible to spot a manta ray or a whale shark.
