Manta Sandy is one of the most famous manta ray cleaning stations in Raja Ampat, located in a narrow channel near Gam Island in the Dampier Strait, where manta rays gather above two rocks at 5-6 meters depth to be cleaned by wrasses. On lucky days, up to 20 mantas circulate at the site, also attracted by plankton transported by moderate currents that leave visibility slightly reduced but the water rich in nutrients. Access is restricted to 20 divers per day for protection of the mantas, with a maximum depth of 20 meters.
