This dive site corresponds to the Karang Makassar area (Manta Point) in Komodo National Park — the largest reef in the park, extending approximately 3 km. The shallow platform at 5–18 m depth hosts permanent cleaning stations frequented by reef manta rays (Mobula alfredi); moderate tidal currents carry abundant plankton that feeds the mantas and bumphead parrotfish that patrol the reef.
