Maldives
On 31 May 2014, the track hosted a try-dive event for beginners. After a briefing on technique and equipment, participants breathed underwater under the supervision of an instructor or divemaster. In May 2018, the track was closed and dredged to restore its original depth, following complaints about rubbish, encroaching sand and lack of depth. Reopening depended on the water becoming clean again. Jellyfish at certain times of year and rubbish floating in the water have been reported.
