Maldives
The giri lies toward the southern side channel of Maadhoo island. There are huge overhangs at the site. Schools of fusiliers and jacks gather where the current hits the giri. Sometimes large tuna are seen up-current, and it is common to see rays sleeping under the overhangs. In Baa Atoll, Maadhoo island is among those that serve as nesting sites for turtles, mainly green turtles.
