Dahab, South Sinai, Egypt
Lighthouse is the main town shore-entry site in Dahab's Mashraba area, beneath the small white-painted navigation marker that gives the site its name. The reef is a gentle sloping wall from the surface to 30 metres, with a sandy plateau extending offshore. The site is the busiest dive of Dahab with multiple operators using it daily, and is also the standard location for Open Water training, freediving and night diving. Reef life is varied — anthias clouds, anemones with anemonefish, masked pufferfish, lionfish and a resident school of yellow goatfish. Octopus, mantis shrimp and Spanish dancers emerge after dark. Turtles are regular and the occasional eagle ray passes on the deeper edge. Currents are very mild. Visibility 15–25 metres, dropping when summer winds stir up Mashraba bay. Beginner-friendly.
