Maldives
The site has pelagic game fish: tuna, wahoo, schools of jacks and barracuda. At the sites a few minutes from Velaa, you can see grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, manta rays in season, black spotted sting rays and eagle rays. In the northern atolls, the best time to dive tends to run from December to April. Between June and September, the excess plankton in the northern atolls tends to attract a lot of marine life, including hundreds of manta rays, especially at Hanifaru Bay (Baa).
