Maldives
The name comes from Dhivehi: “kandu” means channel and “kuda” means small, that is, “small channel”. The slope is almost entirely covered in corals (table, mushroom, brain, cone), interrupted only by a strip of gravel, with barracuda, tuna, rainbow runners and lobsters. The Kuda Kandu channel is described as small and full of life, with schools of jackfish, snappers and barracudas. Addu's lagoon is a natural anchorage accessible through four channels, and Kuda Kandu and the neighbouring Maa Kandu are in the north of the atoll.
