Koahera is named among the notable areas for snorkeling in Addu, along with Koattey, Kandihera and the Hulhumeedhoo reef. Koahera is on the Maldives' official 2017 list of protected areas, together with the Eadhigali Kilhi and Koattey area and other islets of Addu. On the snorkeling reefs of Addu, it is common to see turtles, napoleon wrasse and hundreds of other fish.
