Karang Makasar (Manta Point) is the largest reef in Komodo National Park, spanning approximately 3 km across the park's central channel. The shallow coral and sand platform at 5–18 m is dotted with cleaning stations where reef mantas (Mobula alfredi) gather; at peak tidal flows the currents become strong, but the shallow profile allows accessible drift diving with sightings of up to 50 mantas simultaneously.
