Maldives
There are many fish, especially in the morning and late afternoon: smaller groupers, emperors, pompano and schools of rabbitfish along the reef edge. In the island's shallow lagoon, there are gobies on the sandy bottom and schools of tiny herring chased by baby trevally. Even when snorkeling the house reef, in front of the beach villas, you can see turtles, sharks, parrotfish and boxfish. In the lagoon, next to the overwater villas, there are blue and yellow fish, rows of violet clams, huge starfish and a small shark, and fish and small rays pass under the walkway.
