Maldives
The name Isdhū Muli refers to the projection of the reef at the northeast corner of Laamu Atoll, the only irregularity in an otherwise nearly regular atoll. Isdhoo Muli is one of the five Environmentally Significant Areas in Laamu selected for baseline ecological assessment under the ENDhERI project, funded by the GEF. In Laamu, from 2014 to 2018, reef manta ray sightings peaked annually at the start and end of the Southwest Monsoon (May–June and October–November); after 2018 the pattern varied.
