The USAT Liberty in Tulamben is the iconic American wreck that is Bali's most popular dive. The 120m cargo ship was torpedoed in 1942 and rested on the beach for decades until it was pushed into the sea in 1963 by the eruption of Mount Agung volcano. Today it rests between 5m and 30m depth, completely colonized by corals and inhabited by abundant marine life.
