The reef lies between the well-known Golden Blocks and Triple Pools sites. Happy Life Village is one of only two hotels in Dahab with a real reef right at its doorstep; the other is the Tropitel Dahab Oasis. A dive centre has operated on the hotel's beach since 2001. As the last hotel, in the sheltered south of the bay, the reef is protected from wind and waves, and diving is possible almost always, even when other parts of the bay close because of the waves; it also does not depend on the tide.
The coral gardens host schools of fish, moray eels and the occasional turtle. There is plenty to observe, from snails to lionfish and ghost ragfish.
